"Learning Through Icons" is an exciting teaching method that utilizes icon based maps as a key communication tool. The maps are supported by materials that are presented in fun filled activities. The icons introduce the topics and each activity provides additional information. This package provides an introduction to each province and territory covering topics such as first European contact, explorers, and first settlements. An introduction is given to historical places and the first industries in each province. The first industries are defined with an emphasis on the fur trade. The relationships between the native people and the Europeans are explored and the effects immigrants had on native life. Important historical events such as The Seven Year War are introduced.
