1 videodisc (ca. 84 min.) : sd. col. ; 12 cm. The Prince Edward Island co-operative council presents a Bluemountain Entertainment film, "Building a better world : a co-operative history of PEI". Written and directed by Susan Rodgers; produced by Todd MacEwen; music supervised by James Phillips and performed by Saddle River String Band.

Since 1864, co-operatives of all shapes and sizes have played a role in determining the future of communities across Prince Edward Island, from Tignish to Souris and everywhere in between. From the opening of the Farmer's Bank in Rustico which began the modern Credit Union system, to the rise in fishing and farming co-ops in the 1920s, to Evangeline, the co-operative capital of the world, to ongoing innovations, "Building a better world" looks at almost 150 years of co-operative history through more than a dozen interviews, vintage photographs and first hand accounts.
